We sandblasted 4 matching cast iron surrounds and a bedroom unit, then finished in a full polish finish. The surrounds were matched up with suitable reproduction inserts and installed with granite hearths. Originally intended to be working, unfortunately due to problems with the flues and chambers they were eventually all installed as purely decorative features except the bedroom fireplace which was put in as a solid fuel working fireplace. We repaired and restored a customers cast iron tiled insert and replaced the cast iron back. Then the restored fireplace was installed with a cast iron surround for use as a solid fuel fireplace, the customer will be tiling there own hearth to finish it off.Uncategorized
Today we installed a restored marble Edwardian surround and cast iron tiled insert with a tiled hearth in Forest Hill and a restored Victorian combination fireplace and slate hearth in Brixton. Neither were installed as working fireplaces.
The marble surround was a beautiful pure white marble with simple Edwardian corbels and the Victorian combination fireplace was sourced by RPS fireplaces to match a picture our client had, then the old fireplace was restored, sandblasted and given a few coats of white paint before being installed.Uncategorized
