Fireplace restoration and fitting in Beckenham (BR3), Kent.

We restored and installed an Edwardian cast iron surround and tiled insert in Beckenham (just a few doors down from the house I grew up in). The surround and insert were sandblasted and then refinished in a matt black high temperature acid etch paint before being refitted with new parts for solid fuel use. The customer already had a matching powder coated cast iron surround installed in the front room with a stove. So it now looks quite an impressive through room. Pics on

Fireplace restoration and fitting in Penge (SE20), South East London

A few weeks ago we removed two antique Victorian tiled insert fireplaces from the property. The fireplaces were in desperate need of restoration, which started with sandblasting and then a full rebuild with replacement parts before both were finished in our matt black high temperature paint. Lastly the tiles were restored and refitted ready for installation. We supplied two slate hearths for the job and sent the customer to a great local salvage yard to pick a couple of antique cars iron surrounds for a fraction of the price some local shops charge, these were then refinished in preparation for the fitting. On the day of fitting we installed one as a working solid fuel fireplace and the other as purely a decorative feature in the house.
