Today we delivered back a fireplace we have been restoring for quite a while. Oxford is a little out of our “normal” work area. When we took on the fireplace it was just the frame and a shelf of a cast iron combination fireplace. We began the restoration by sandblasting the fireplace back to bare metal then rebuilding it with the missing parts before completely refinishing it in a heat proof matt black finish. Now the fireplace is just waiting for fitting and once again it will be a functioning fireplace.Uncategorized
Today we moved on to a white statury Edwardian marble restoration. A stunning white marble with liver marble detailing. Stripped down to individual panels and polished then completely rebuilt ready for fitting tomorrow in Clapham.Uncategorized

I’ve spent 2 whole days working on the restoration of a huge Victorian cast iron surround, it has massive solid cast iron pillars on either side. First the surround was sandblasted back to bare metal then we polished it to a high silvery shine. It is the heaviest fireplace we have ever had and takes 3 people to lift it when its dismantled, I don’t think it will be possible to lift when its built. Thank god we aren’t fitting this one!!! Pics on http://www.facebook.com/rpsfireplaces if I ever get tp see it built up!!Uncategorized
