We removed 12 complete antique cast iron fireplaces including 5 cast iron surrounds and inserts, the biggest tiled combination I have ever seen and 6 matching combination fireplaces from a Victorian office block renovation. We were given a 3 week deadline to remove, restore and refit them. The restoration took a little over 2 weeks to complete, luckily there wasn’t a single polished fire among the 12! When it came time to refit them all with new slate hearths, we booked an entire week out with our 3 fitters and they still ended up working 12 hour days. We removed an old tiled combination fireplace heavily covered in many years of white paint. The Edwardian fireplace was then sandblasted back to its raw metal state and refinished with a white outer and black middle paint effect. The finished fireplace was then installed for solid fuel use on a new slate hearth.Uncategorized
We picked up 3 viterous enameled cast iron Art Deco fireplaces from Chiselhurst to be sandblasted back to their raw cast iron state then polished to a high shine. They are to be refitted with gas fires when completed. Pics on http://www.facebook.com/rpsfireplaces as soon as they are finished.Uncategorized
